The exposition brings together Galleries from all over the world, although we were the only Southern Hemisphere participants this year and last.<br />The Exposition, held at the Park Avenue Armory, ran for four action-packed days and nights, with a Gala opening for 2,400 guests. Recognised as an important showcase for leading practitioners in all fields of object art...Glass, Jewellery, Sculpture, Pottery, Textiles...you can check the website to see a small selection of other Galleries' representations...www.sofaexpo.com.<br /><br />What we loved about New York:<br /><br /></span></span></span><ul><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Transport System...for one who is 'directionally challenged', I took only one major wrong turn.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The People....always offering assistance while I manipulated my ridiculously heavy suitcase up and down subway stairs.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Gallery Directors...such a positive, co-operative, encouraging group who are almost as excited as me when I sell.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The People...who stand to one side of the escalator to allow runners to pass.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Shop Windows...I should have been a window dresser...is it too late to change careers?</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The People...who help visitors point themselves in the desired direction.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Hale and Hearty Soups...I lived on them.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Architecture...so substantial yet practical.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Doorman at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Bloomingdales</span>...who handed out <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">plastic</span> umbrella covers so you didn't drip all over their <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">floors</span> and stock.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The chain of Cafes called 'Eat Here Now'. Maybe I'll re-name Compendium as 'Buy Here Now'.</span></li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Parks and Public <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Sculpture</span> in them and on the Streets.</span></li></ul><span style="font-weight: bold;">As a result of the trip we are pleased to be representing a series of overseas artists starting with LEA <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">DOLINSKY</span> Sculpture starting late July.
